A LOVE LETTER
Dear reader,
Love is patient. Love is kind. Love never fails.
Let’s talk about Jack, about my Jack.
Meet Jack, the human being that effortlessly weaves through the strings of my life, leaving behind a trail of laughter and love. Our story didn’t begin with a meet-cute in a coffee shop or a chance encounter at the flower shop. No, our paths collided under the most bizarre circumstances imaginable; a cinnamon cake wrapped in obituary newspaper and an unanswered text. Read about how we met here .
Describing him feels like attempting to capture the coastal sunset in mere words, an uphill task. But I will do my best to convey a glimpse of who he is.
Jack is charming and loving and caring and sweet, a textbook definition of perfect. But dear reader, perfection is an illusion.
From the moment I met him, I knew there was something about him. Maybe it was the way he talked like my favorite podcaster or the way he stared into my eyes like he wanted to read my soul. Whatever it was, I was gone, hook, line, and sinker.
Every day with him is a rollercoaster ride of eye-rolls and exasperated sighs. One minute I am planning a cathedral wedding, the next angry steams are billowing from my ears and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There is something magical about sharing laughter with him; about the way his terrible belly laughs leave him reeling and gasping for air. Whether we are reminiscing about our past stupidity or planning the next mischief, every time spent with him is a treasure I want to put in a time capsule forever.
More than just the laughter, he brings me tears in almost equal measure. Tears of joy at how lucky I got to bag such a jokestar. The countless giggles and snorts that brighten any dark day and bring out the magic that love is.
In a world filled with uncertainties, his presence makes me feel safe, cherished, and understood. His infectious charm, his dashing good looks, his witty brains. He is a man of integrity, always standing up for what he believes in.
What I love most about Jack is his witty comebacks and expertly timed sarcasm. He never fails to keep me on my toes. Late-night banter on anything and everything and never-ending battles over who has the worst singing voice(I still think mine is better). Who needs flowers and chocolates when Jack and I can bond over our mutual disdain for cliches and over-the-top displays of affection?
And so, dear reader, as I raise my glass to toast to my Jack, I realize that love truly knows no bounds. It’s messy, it’s imperfect, it’s filled with laughter and tears, but above all, it’s deeply fulfilling.
So here’s to embracing the quirks, the sarcasm, and the belly laughs that make love, with my Jack, an adventure worth cherishing. Happy Valentine’s Day to my partner-in-crime.
Cheers to us, to love that’s anything but conventional, and to the beautiful chaos of our shared journey ahead.
As I reflect on the wonderfully chaotic journey that is love with Jack, I pose this question: Isn’t it the beautifully imperfect moments that truly define love?
