New Year’s resolutions, Not Again!

Have you made your new year resolution yet? It’s day 4 of the year and I hope there had been some progress or at least you have bought a new notebook. New year, new you. That is the spirit.
This year, 2022, I am not making resolutions, not again. Everyone is hyped about making moves and rebranding but that no longer works for me. For example, last year I had a resolution that I would learn how to skate, a year later I have no idea how to get someone to teach me how to skate. Life happened and let’s just say I was not committed enough to it. If I had a resolution list, this would be the third time I would be adding skating to it. Let’s just say somethings are just not meant to happen.
Another example, last year I had a resolution that I would work out and tone my abdominal muscles. For this one I tried, I did work out, not seriously though, for like a week. I tried.
Some resolutions were achieved but most were not. I won’t blame it on them being resolutions, they were just not meant to be. Or better still I was too lazy.
That aside, this year I am not making resolutions, not again. But I have a list of things I want done. For example I want to finish two academic years in one calendar year. Is that possible you ask? I pray it is. I will call it the the year’s to do list. That way, hopefully I will be motivated to get things. Honestly it’s resolutions but with a different name, that way they are not doomed to last for two weeks only.
According to the urban dictionary a new year resolution is a promise you make to yourself but only keep it for the first two weeks.
A new year offers the chance to rebrand. To let go some things and maybe to learn a few things. But with time, as the hustle of the year gets thick, these things are forgotten.
That’s why I will stick to my To Do list.

Heeeeeey guys
Happy new year 2022
What is your resolution list all about
Ama you don’t have one like me
At the end of the day things will get done
to the best year.
See you next Tuesday
Adios

Anyway, some of us don’t believe in astronomical occurrences so a ‘new year’ isn’t really a new year 🤭, we handle each day as it comes.
