Call out the rapist

Who is right and who is wrong?

The stories of gender-based violence making headlines in this country are sickening. Humans have lost their humanity and in its place sort insanity. Walking the streets is safe no more. A wave of cruelty is sweeping across leaving no stone unturned and revealing the monsters that lie beneath the façade of friends.
Who is to blame?
I don’t feel safe anymore meeting new people because I am scared finding my dead body might make headlines the next day. The villains have succeeded in driving their fear into our lives.
For the longest time, the conversation around gender harassment has been swept under the carpet but in the wake of the recent murders, the carpet can hold it in no more as well.
War of the sexes looms and soon both male and female battalions will meet head-on the battlefield. Some say it’s the feminists trying to get attention others to say it all stems from the battle of equality and equity. However, someone makes me understand how raping and killing someone is a matter of equity and equality.

Let’s take this scenario;
You are a guy. You meet this lady, online most probably, and you become quick friends. Friends by the mere fact that you spend a couple of hours online holding conversations. Conversations that are driven by autocorrect and delete key leaving only what they want to be read sent. A few days and you already love her. You think you know her but what you know is what she wants you to know. You meet for lunch or dinner or coffee and afterwards, you offer to continue the night somewhere else. You try to heat the moment because sex is all you’ve wanted since day one, but she rejects your advances and you get furious. Who does she think she is? You lace her drink and have your way with her and maybe even break her spine while at it or you throw her out of the window. How convenient! I can only imagine you dust off your hands, smoothen your coat and take a sip of your drink.

There is always two sides to a story so what could be the story on the flip side of this scenario. Did she suddenly discover she had wings and decided to try them from your window. Ooh wait, or she suddenly discovered bat man was her great grandmother’s uncle’s neighbour and somehow the flying superpower got to her.
Someone make me understand the other side of the story when you intentionally throw a human being from the 12th floor with no harnessing.

Someone will argue that the lady in the above scenario should not have gone for the apparent date in the first place. They will say that it should be obvious that they most probably would have sex and she should have had that in mind. Others will say she most probably followed this guy because she wanted his money or a materialistic return. Others will even go ahead and say she deserved it. Who chooses who deserves death?

At one point, your mother and father met for the first time and they were strangers to each other. Nevertheless, neither of them tried to throw the other out of the window and that is how you came to existence. Meeting strangers is inevitable especially when looking for a spouse or a life partner. There will always be that one time that both of you are strangers and you can only hope and pray that the other person is not a devil adorned in human skin.

No fathomable excuse can explain rape, not even the lame excuse of being drunk. Some say that once a guy is aroused and his penis is erect there is nothing they can do because they don’t have a brain down there. But at least they should have a functional brain between their ears that makes them respect the decision that has been made.
A NO is just that, a NO! There is nothing to read between the lines there is nothing symbolic about it. It is NO to any sexual activity and it should be respected.
The argument here is not between men and women; it is between the good people and the rapists and murderers walking the streets. The men and women who have taken murder as their hobby and are leaving behind a trail of sorrow and grief.

  1. Waking up to finding your body making headlines is hilarious 😅
    Nonetheless, GBV is a current trend that needs a conversation on ways of finding amicable solutions, no polarity.

  2. “”bat man was her great grandmother’s uncle’s neighbour and somehow the flying superpower got to her….😂😂””
    Anyways rape is just so bad and should never happen to anyone….
